HP has chosen WebOS from Palm to be used on their products such as phones, PDAs, tablets, and other products. HP plans to postpone or cancel the use windows and Android for their products. This is a great bet to use WebOS
But what if it does not happen?
Will be a lot of offers from other companies who will try to buy Palm.
Starting from Apple is reportedly very interested in buying Palm because Palm’s large library of patents that date back to the early days of mobile computing, beginning with the original Palm Pilot. Apple will allow Palm to develop and run their own line of phone’s. So there will be two operating systems are supported by Apple. It may happen because Apple believes that Palm will not be able to compete against iPhone.
The next is interested in buying Palm is RIM’s, which makes the Blackberry. RIM initially bid high enough, but after the negotiation stage RIM lowered its bid and make the HP managed to come in and buy a Palm
Another buyer was Google. Who plan to buy a Palm just because Apple interested in Palm.
Lenovo also interested to buy but bid too low
